Finance & Operations Manager

About the role

The Finance & Operations Manager will oversee financial, operational and personnel functions for Street Child’s programme in the Central African Republic. Reporting to the Country Programme Director, the role ensures accurate budgeting, forecasting, grant reporting and compliance with both donor and local regulations while managing HR and administrative processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead annual budget preparation, financial planning and monthly financial reporting.
• Maintain compliance with Street Child financial policies, donor contracts and CAR regulations.
• Oversee the accounting system, daily data entry and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Monitor grant budgets, support proposal development and provide financial analysis for programme decisions.
• Manage cash flow, bank relationships and timely vendor payments.
• Supervise and develop the finance and admin assistant, fostering accountability and transparency.
• Prepare, coordinate and follow‑up donor audits, ensuring audit‑ready documentation.
• Develop and implement procurement plans in line with organisational policies.
• Handle HR functions including recruitment, contracts and compliance with CAR labour laws.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial management, budgeting and grant reporting, preferably within an NGO or humanitarian context.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and manage multi‑disciplinary operational tasks.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes and compliance requirements.
• Experience working with donors and preparing audit documentation.
