About the role

The United Nations Country Team in the Central African Republic is seeking an Individual Contractor to provide dedicated programme coordination and pooled‑fund support. Working from the Resident Coordinator’s Office in Bangui, the contractor will assist the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) and the newly established Emai Fund, ensuring effective joint programming and financial closure of legacy funds.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide operational and coordination support to the Emai Fund, including organizing governance meetings, managing reporting processes and engaging stakeholders.
  • Monitor and facilitate the closure of the Ezingo Fund, tracking outstanding reporting requirements and coordinating closure actions with partner organisations.
  • Support the preparation of programme documents, reports and briefing materials for UNSDCF joint programmes and initiatives.
  • Act as secretariat for UNCT coordination mechanisms, drafting agendas, meeting minutes, action trackers and follow‑up on agreed actions.
  • Produce briefing packages, presentations, talking points and background notes for the Resident Coordinator’s Office.
  • Document lessons learned, good practices and results related to joint programming, pooled‑fund management and UNCT coordination.
  • Submit a final consultancy report summarising activities, results, lessons learned and recommendations.

Required profile

  • Proven experience in programme coordination, fund management or UN‑system support.
  • Strong understanding of development cooperation frameworks and joint programming concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently in a challenging environment and liaise with multiple UN agencies, government bodies and partners.

Required skills

  • Experience organising meetings, preparing agendas and drafting minutes.
  • Competence in preparing reports, briefing notes and presentation materials.
