Deputy Representative Operations

About the role

The Deputy Representative Operations supports the Head of Office in Bangui to ensure that UNICEF’s assets and programmes are managed efficiently and in line with the organization’s strategic priorities. As a senior P‑4 officer, you will act as a strategic business partner, driving results, fostering change and providing risk‑informed analysis to enhance operational performance for children in the Central African Republic.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Office in overall office management, monitoring operations and programme delivery.
• Lead the development and implementation of sound management practices, ensuring optimal use of resources.
• Provide risk‑based analysis and solution‑focused advice to senior management.
• Support the design and execution of equity‑focused strategies and initiatives.
• Coordinate with programme teams to align operational support with field priorities.
• Oversee financial and administrative controls, reporting and compliance with UNICEF policies.

Required profile

• Senior professional with proven experience in operations management within an international development or humanitarian context.
• Demonstrated ability to lead change, manage risk and deliver results in complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of UNICEF policies, equity strategies and public sector management practices.
• Excellent analytical, advisory and communication skills.
