Project Officer (Accountability towards Affected Populations (AAP))

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Officer to lead the Accountability towards Affected Populations (AAP) component of its programme in the Central African Republic. The incumbent will work closely with government, UN agencies, NGOs and communities to ensure that migration‑related interventions are transparent, inclusive and responsive to the needs of affected people.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor AAP frameworks and tools in line with IOM policies and donor requirements.
• Coordinate with programme teams, partners and beneficiaries to collect feedback, address complaints and improve service delivery.
• Prepare regular reports on AAP activities, outcomes and lessons learned for internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide capacity‑building and technical support to staff and partners on AAP principles and practices.
• Ensure compliance with IOM’s safeguarding and protection standards throughout project implementation.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in social sciences, migration studies, humanitarian affairs or a related field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in humanitarian or development programmes, preferably at the UN or international NGO level.
• Demonstrated knowledge of AAP concepts, community engagement and feedback‑mechanism design.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with fluency in English; French is an asset.
• Ability to work in a challenging security environment and travel within the country as required.
