Programme Officer – Field Coordination

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is recruiting a Programme Officer (Field Coordination) to support its stabilization programme in the Central African Republic. The role will work closely with the Government of the Central African Republic, local authorities, civil society and the private sector to deliver rapid, flexible assistance that enhances infrastructure, essential services and social cohesion in host and return communities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate field activities and ensure timely implementation of programme components.
• Facilitate collaboration with government, community leaders and partners to address stabilization priorities.
• Monitor and report on progress, outcomes and challenges, ensuring alignment with the CAR National Development Plan and UN frameworks.
• Support the delivery of essential services, infrastructure projects and initiatives that promote social cohesion.
• Prepare technical and operational reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• University degree in social sciences, development studies, humanitarian affairs or a related field.
• Relevant experience in programme coordination or field operations, preferably in conflict‑affected or post‑crisis environments.
• Understanding of migration management, durable solutions and development planning.
• Strong communication skills in English; French language proficiency is an asset.
• Ability to work effectively in multicultural and challenging settings.
