Area Programme Manager – Bouar

About the role

The Area Programme Manager based in Bouar will ensure continuity of NRC’s humanitarian programmes in the Central African Republic, lead staff, and represent the organisation in coordination forums. This position is central to delivering integrated interventions in education, legal assistance, shelter, WASH and protection.

Key responsibilities

• Provide line management for directly reporting staff, including performance management, goal setting, recruitment, induction and staff development.
• Ensure duty of care and oversee workforce planning.
• Support integrated programme delivery, coordination and technical quality of the field office.
• Oversee monitoring, evaluation and programme cycle management (PCM) at the area level.
• Provide high‑level technical oversight of needs assessments, studies and evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with donor standards, manage grants and produce timely, high‑quality reporting.
• Identify financing opportunities, develop financing strategies and forecasts for the area.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian programme management and line‑management.
• Strong knowledge of donor compliance and grant management processes.
• Experience coordinating multi‑sector programmes in conflict‑affected settings.
• Ability to represent NRC in coordination forums and build partnerships.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
