Country Director / Response Director, Central African Republic

About the role

World Vision is recruiting a Country Director (CRD) to lead its humanitarian and recovery response in the Central African Republic. The role provides overall leadership and oversight so that programmes are timely, effective, compliant, secure and adequately resourced, and is accountable for strategy execution, financial and operational performance, risk management and donor compliance. As the senior leader and principal representative of the response, the CRD works with government authorities, donors, UN agencies, NGOs and church partners to coordinate efforts and mobilise resources.

Key responsibilities

• Set the vision and direction of the response and lead the development, implementation, monitoring and adaptation of response and transition strategies
• Secure operational agreements, MoUs, contracts and authorisations with government authorities, donors and partners
• Manage grant-funded projects: chair performance reviews, ensure quality reporting and oversee sub-grants, implementing partners and consortium agreements
• Build relationships with institutional donors, UN agencies and funding partners and secure adequate funding
• Ensure high-quality, accountable programmes with protection, gender and inclusion integrated, and lead monitoring, evaluation, learning and reporting
• Lead donor engagement, proposal development and grant acquisition
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and resource allocation, and strengthen financial controls and fraud prevention
• Lead enterprise risk management, maintain the risk register, coordinate audits and prepare risk, compliance and governance reports
• Represent World Vision externally and strengthen partnerships, advocacy and visibility
