Senior Crash Data Systems Expert

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Senior Crash Data Systems Expert to lead the design, deployment, and management of integrated road crash data platforms for an EU‑funded technical assistance project supporting ECOWAS transport governance in West Africa. The role will ensure harmonised data collection, interoperability across multiple agencies, and evidence‑based road‑safety monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement integrated road crash data management systems.
• Provide technical guidance on crash data collection methods, database design, and interoperability frameworks.
• Integrate police, hospital, licensing, insurance and road‑infrastructure data into unified platforms.
• Advise on standardised crash data templates, data quality assurance and road‑safety analytics.
• Create digital dashboards, reporting tools and monitoring systems for road‑safety performance.
• Prepare technical specifications, operational procedures, analytical reports and system assessments.
• Coordinate with transport ministries, police authorities, health agencies, ICT providers and development partners.
• Deliver workshops, training sessions and capacity‑building activities on crash data systems.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in information systems, transport engineering, statistics, data analytics, road safety, public health or a related field.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in road‑safety data systems, transport analytics or digital monitoring, with a minimum of 7 years focused on crash data systems.
• Proven experience on transport or road‑safety projects in developing countries, preferably in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Background in international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
