NTD Project Officer

About the role

CBM (Christian Blind Mission) is looking for a locally‑based NTD Project Officer to support the implementation of a trachomatous trichiasis (TT) surgical pilot in the Central African Republic. The role involves planning, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating the project, as well as building capacity among health workers and raising community awareness.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the inception phase, develop operational and micro‑plans, and create a community mobilisation plan.
• Develop and monitor a project risk mitigation plan and participate in national NTD coordination forums.
• Provide day‑to‑day technical and operational support for the TT surgical pilot, including logistics, forecasting, and payment coordination.
• Organise surgical campaigns, audits, post‑campaign reviews and ensure full geographic coverage case‑finding.
• Oversee structured post‑surgical follow‑up at multiple time points.
• Implement monitoring and evaluation in line with CBM, MoU and donor requirements; manage data collection, entry, cleaning and storage.
• Coordinate quarterly review meetings, document operational learning and contribute to the country‑wide TT scale‑up strategy.
• Produce technical reports and update the PROMIS tracking system with accurate data.
• Monitor expenditures, conduct variance analysis and support corrective actions.
• Plan and deliver trainings, supportive supervisions and surgical audit logistics; sensitise health workers and train trachoma finders.
• Implement community sensitisation and advocacy plans, provide case studies for fundraising and represent CBM in relevant NTD networks.

Required profile

• Local residency in the Central African Republic.
• Full‑time commitment of 40 hours per week.
• Employment under contractual conditions of the Central African Republic (no expatriate contract).
