Information Extraction Specialist

About the role

The Information Extraction Specialist will design and operate pipelines that transform unstructured and semi‑structured data into structured, actionable datasets. Working remotely, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality extraction solutions for a variety of domains such as legal, medical, financial, and technical documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain information extraction pipelines for diverse document types.
• Create and manage high‑quality training datasets, including annotation schema definition and quality assurance.
• Evaluate model performance using precision, recall, F1‑score and conduct error analysis to drive improvements.
• Assess, integrate, and customize open‑source and commercial extraction tools and platforms.
• Develop scripts and automated workflows to streamline extraction processes.
• Adapt extraction systems to new domains, rapidly acquiring domain knowledge and updating guidelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in information extraction, NLP, or computational linguistics.
• Strong analytical mindset with proven ability to diagnose model errors and propose data‑driven solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English, capable of documenting complex guidelines.

Required skills

• Python programming for data analysis and NLP tasks.
• Experience with NLP libraries such as spaCy, NLTK, Hugging Face Transformers, and Stanford CoreNLP.
• Designing annotation schemas and guidelines for complex extraction tasks.
• Knowledge of evaluation metrics: precision, recall, F1‑score.
