Humanitarian Affairs Officer / Programme Officer (P3)

About the role

The Humanitarian Affairs Officer / Programme Officer (P3) will be based in the Crisis Response Division of OCHA in Bangui. The role supports OCHA’s mission to coordinate humanitarian actors, ensure coherent emergency response, and advocate for affected populations in the Central African Republic.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate the work of humanitarian partners at national and international levels.
• Monitor and analyse humanitarian needs, gaps, and response activities.
• Prepare and disseminate situation reports, briefing notes and strategic guidance.
• Support the development and implementation of humanitarian response plans.
• Represent OCHA in coordination meetings, clusters and inter‑agency forums.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in humanitarian affairs, international relations, development studies or a related field.
• At least five years of professional experience in humanitarian coordination, emergency response or programme management.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural, high‑pressure environment.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French is an asset.
