Head of Programme – CAR (Bangui) – Internal Applicants

About the role

The Head of Programme will lead NRC's multi‑sectoral humanitarian response in the Central African Republic, based in Bangui. Reporting to the Country Director, the role ensures high‑quality, evidence‑based programmes that address protection, livelihoods, WASH, shelter, education and ICLA needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update the fundraising strategy aligned with the country strategy and programme needs.
• Lead programme teams in preparing concept notes, project proposals and budgets for scale‑up and post‑emergency interventions.
• Coordinate with donors on new funding opportunities, grant management and reporting requirements.
• Oversee MEL data collection systems, ensure data quality, analysis and learning integration.
• Guarantee programme quality meets international standards, NRC policies and Safe & Inclusive Programming principles.
• Support evidence‑gap identification, advocacy and communication initiatives.
• Maintain effective feedback and complaint mechanisms with communities and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in managing large‑scale humanitarian programmes in conflict‑affected settings.
• Proven ability to design and implement fundraising strategies and donor relations.
• Strong understanding of multi‑sectoral programme integration and MEL processes.
• Excellent leadership, coordination and stakeholder engagement skills.
