Excel Specialist – Remote Data Operations

About the role

We are looking for a highly analytical Excel Specialist to become the backbone of our data operations across Africa. Working remotely, you will translate raw numbers into actionable business intelligence, supporting finance, marketing, and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain complex, scalable Excel spreadsheets, pivot tables, and interactive dashboards.
• Write and maintain VBA scripts and macros to automate data entry, extraction, and report generation.
• Clean, validate, and merge large datasets from CRMs, ERPs, and cloud databases using Power Query and advanced lookup formulas.
• Develop dynamic forecasting, budgeting, and performance‑tracking models for senior management.
• Audit existing Excel files, troubleshoot formula errors, and ensure 100% data integrity.
• Translate technical insights into visual formats and train remote cross‑functional teams on reporting templates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in data analysis, spreadsheet management, or financial modeling.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate across African time zones.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel – advanced formulas, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, Power Query.
• VBA macro development and custom scripting.
• Microsoft Power BI (familiarity).
• SQL databases (familiarity).
• Data visualization principles.
