Engineer (Professional) – Central African Republic

About the role
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Professional Engineer to support its programme in the Central African Republic. The role contributes to stabilisation efforts, infrastructure development and social cohesion initiatives in partnership with the Government of the Central African Republic and local stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with government, local authorities, civil society and the private sector to design and implement engineering solutions that support stability and community resilience.
- Assist in the planning, delivery and monitoring of infrastructure projects and essential services in hosting and return communities.
- Provide technical input to ensure alignment with the CAR National Development Plan, the National Durable Solutions Strategy and the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.
- Support rapid and flexible mechanisms for stabilization and solutions‑oriented priorities.
Required profile
- Applicants from first‑tier (internal or from non‑represented IOM Member States) and second‑tier candidates are welcome.
- Preference is given to qualified female candidates and to candidates from non‑represented member countries.
- Relevant engineering qualification and experience in development or humanitarian contexts.
