Deputy Representative Operations (P-4) – Fixed Term in Bangui

About the role

The Deputy Representative Operations supports the Head of Office in managing UNICEF’s operations in Bangui, ensuring efficient use of assets and alignment with strategic priorities. This senior P-4 position acts as a strategic business partner, driving results, fostering change, and providing risk‑informed analysis to support programme delivery in a fragile, humanitarian context.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Office in overseeing day‑to‑day office management and operational performance.
• Lead the development and implementation of operational policies, procedures and innovative management practices.
• Provide analytical support and risk‑based recommendations to inform programme and management decisions.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams to ensure effective resource allocation and compliance with UNICEF standards.
• Monitor and report on operational results, identifying opportunities for improvement.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in public administration, business management, international development or related field.
• Extensive experience (minimum 8 years) in senior operational roles within international NGOs or UN agencies, preferably in fragile or humanitarian settings.
• Proven ability to lead change, manage complex operations and advise senior leadership.
• Strong understanding of UNICEF’s equity strategy and child‑rights based approach.
