Consultant Gynecologist

About the role

International Medical Corps is seeking a Consultant Gynecologist to support a UNFPA‑funded maternal and newborn health project in the Central African Republic. The role will focus on strengthening clinical services, raising community awareness, and providing specialized obstetric fistula care in Bria and Ndele health districts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership for mobile and static maternal‑newborn health clinics.
• Conduct obstetric fistula surgeries and supervise post‑operative care at Bria Referral Hospital.
• Collaborate with local leaders and associations to promote rapid referral for pregnancy danger signs.
• Support Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) prevention and response activities.
• Coordinate with the Ministry of Health team to ensure quality standards and integration of services.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialization in Gynecology/Obstetrics.
• Experience working in humanitarian or low‑resource settings.
• Demonstrated ability to lead clinical teams and train local staff.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French is an asset.
