Project Officer – Accountability to Affected Populations

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Officer to support its work in the Central African Republic (CAR). The position focuses on ensuring accountability towards affected populations (AAP) within IOM’s multi‑sectoral programmes. It is a fixed‑term, one‑year contract at the P‑2 professional grade, with the possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of IOM’s AAP framework in CAR.
• Coordinate with government authorities, UN agencies, civil society organisations and other partners to promote humane and orderly migration.
• Support monitoring, reporting and documentation of activities related to accountability and protection of displaced persons.
• Contribute to the development of project plans, budgets and operational guidelines.

Required profile

• Professional experience relevant to migration, humanitarian assistance or development programmes.
• Eligibility for a P‑2 grade position within the United Nations system.
• Willingness to work in a challenging environment in CAR.
• Applicants from first‑tier (internal or under‑represented IOM Member States) and qualified female candidates are especially encouraged.
