Field Security Officer (P)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Field Security Officer (P) to support security risk management for its Country Office. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and under the technical supervision of the Regional Security Officer, the incumbent will ensure the safety of personnel, premises, assets and operational activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice and operational support on security risk assessment and mitigation.
• Implement safety and security procedures aligned with IOM policies.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with UN security entities, government counterparts, partner security services and the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) office.
• Monitor security developments in the field and advise on appropriate response actions.
• Prepare security reports, incident logs and recommendations for senior management.

Required profile

• First‑tier candidates include internal staff and applicants from IOM member states not currently represented in professional categories (list provided in posting).
• Qualified female candidates are especially encouraged to apply.
