Deputy Manager – Process Design (Central Africa)

About the role

The Deputy Manager – Process Design will lead engineering and design activities for mineral processing plants in Central Africa. This senior‑level position requires deep expertise in process selection, equipment sizing, and multidisciplinary coordination to deliver robust, cost‑effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise processes for crushing, grinding, classification, flotation, gravity and magnetic separation, thickening, filtration, and tailings handling.
• Prepare and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), design basis documents and detailed process descriptions.
• Perform mass and water balance calculations, equipment sizing and selection.
• Provide process inputs for plant layout, CAPEX/OPEX estimation and coordinate with mechanical, civil, electrical and instrumentation teams.
• Interface with OEMs, licensors and test‑work agencies during design development.
• Support technical bid evaluations, feasibility studies and commissioning activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in process engineering for mineral processing plants.
• B.E. / B.Tech in Chemical Engineering.
• Proven experience in basic engineering, feasibility and DPR stage projects.

Required skills

• Process calculations and flow‑sheet development.
• Equipment design and sizing.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or comparable engineering design tools.
