About the role
The Supply & Logistics Manager will lead UNICEF’s supply section in Bangui, overseeing all aspects of procurement, warehousing, distribution and emergency response to ensure timely delivery of essential goods and services for children in the Central African Republic.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement the annual work plan for the Supply section, set priorities and monitor performance against targets.
- Supervise and coach section staff, manage performance and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Coordinate supply chain operations including customs clearance, warehousing, inventory control and in‑country transport.
- Lead procurement strategies, category management and long‑term agreements to optimise spend.
- Provide technical advisory support to government and implementing partners, and manage construction, cold‑chain and vaccine logistics.
- Collaborate with programme teams, the Supply Division, Regional Office and global supply community to align activities with UNICEF’s UN80 framework.
- Ensure readiness for emergency response and maintain operational capacity through third‑party contracts where needed.
Required profile
- Proven experience in managing large‑scale supply chain and logistics operations, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience working with government agencies, donors and implementing partners.
- Strong analytical skills for spend analysis, procurement planning and performance monitoring.
- Familiarity with construction management, cold‑chain and vaccine logistics is an advantage.
