Protective Security Specialist / Firearms Instructor

About the role

GardaWorld is hiring a Protective Security Specialist / Firearms Instructor in Bangui, Central African Republic. The role covers day-to-day personal protective security for the principal and overseeing weapons qualification courses for contract personnel. Lodging and a per diem are provided.

Key responsibilities

• Provide protective security to the principal
• Plan, coordinate and oversee weapon requalification in an overseas location
• Maintain the assigned protective formation position during the principal's walking movements
• Participate in advance security preparations
• Mans the security post at the principal's residence, the command post or another static post as required
• Drive the lead vehicle, principal's vehicle, follow-vehicle and act as response agent in motorcade or similar operations
• Additional duties may be assigned according to the needs of the client

Required profile

• Three years of military, law enforcement or armed commercial guard force experience
• A relevant military occupational specialty (MOS) or civilian SWAT / SRT experience
• One year of high-threat protective security experience, such as combat deployments, full-time SWAT or SRT tenure, or equivalent civilian experience
• One year of full-time experience as a firearms instructor on military, federal, state or local government training assignments
• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and understanding English

Work environment

• Visits to areas of operations may involve extreme cold or hot weather
• Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise
• Physical demands include standing occasionally, lifting up to 25 pounds and moving about inside an office
