Head of Operational Finance & Support Services

About the role

DanChurchAid is seeking a hands‑on Head of Operational Finance & Support Services to lead finance, HR, procurement, logistics and administration across its Central African Republic country office and field sites. Reporting to the Country Director, you will translate programme plans into support‑service priorities, maintain strong financial controls and resolve operational bottlenecks.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day finance, HR, procurement and logistics activities, aligning them with programme delivery and field‑office needs.
• Lead routine financial operations, including accounting, payments, reconciliations, month‑end close, cash‑flow forecasting and donor reporting.
• Oversee procurement planning, supplier management and logistics arrangements to ensure timely, compliant delivery of goods and services.
• Manage HR processes such as recruitment, onboarding, payroll inputs and staff records, ensuring compliance with DCA policies and local regulations.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce delays, errors and control weaknesses.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance or accounting.
• At least five years of finance and operational support experience in an NGO or similar organisation, with minimum two years in a leadership role.
• Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritize competing needs and deliver results in a demanding environment.
• Fluency in written and spoken French and English.

Required skills

• Strong practical experience in budgeting, cash‑flow management, accounting and financial reporting.
• Expertise in internal controls, segregation of duties and donor compliance.
• Proficiency with financial systems, specifically Maconomy, and advanced spreadsheet analysis.
• Knowledge of procurement, logistics and HR operational processes.
