Field Operations Manager for Protected Area

About the role

The Field Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day management of Manovo‑Gounda St. Floris National Park and surrounding protected areas. Reporting to the Northeastern CAR Landscape Director, this senior position oversees law enforcement, fleet, logistics, and infrastructure teams while ensuring safety, budget control, and compliance with WCS policies.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the senior park‑based authority, making delegated decisions on anti‑poaching, ecoguard patrols and law‑enforcement activities.
• Develop and implement an integrated field operations plan and budget aligned with the park’s strategic framework.
• Lead and mentor department heads in law enforcement, fleet management, logistics and infrastructure, ensuring performance and wellbeing.
• Oversee construction, maintenance and renovation of park facilities, airstrips, roads and water resources.
• Ensure compliance with procurement procedures, contracts and national legislation, and produce regular operational reports.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level leadership experience in conservation, protected‑area management or related field operations.
• Strong background in coordinating multi‑disciplinary teams, budgeting and logistical planning.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain safety standards and uphold human‑rights and social safeguards.
• Experience working with law‑enforcement or anti‑poaching programs in remote environments.
