Senior Climate-Resilient Infrastructure Expert

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Senior Climate-Resilient Infrastructure Expert to support the EU‑funded Technical Assistance to ECOWAS in Transport Governance project. The role focuses on integrating climate‑resilience and adaptation measures into transport infrastructure planning across West Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate climate‑resilience and adaptation measures into transport infrastructure projects and corridor initiatives.
• Provide technical assistance on climate‑proofing methodologies, disaster risk reduction, and resilient infrastructure design.
• Conduct climate vulnerability assessments, resilience analyses, and climate risk screening for transport projects.
• Develop climate‑resilient infrastructure standards, technical guidelines, and operational frameworks.
• Advise ECOWAS institutions and Member States on resilient transport planning and adaptation strategies.
• Support preparation of technical studies, policy recommendations, and capacity‑building activities.
• Coordinate with transport authorities, environmental agencies, development partners, and regional stakeholders.
• Contribute to monitoring, reporting, and analytical outputs related to resilience initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in civil engineering, climate change, environmental engineering, infrastructure resilience, disaster risk management, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in climate resilience, infrastructure adaptation, transport engineering, or sustainable infrastructure development.
• Proven experience on infrastructure or transport projects in developing countries, preferably in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Experience in international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
