Service and Automation Technician

About the role

Carlisle Technology seeks a Service and Automation Technician to join its Hardware Service Team. You will support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of integrated hardware solutions used in food processing plants across North America. The position combines field service work with office‑based tasks such as documentation and training.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and repair plant‑floor components including industrial PC workstations, automated weighing and labeling equipment, and various scales.
• Create and update user documentation for system operation.
• Conduct onsite or facility‑based customer training sessions.
• Provide diagnostic support and resolve customer issues efficiently.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks as required to ensure system reliability.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary degree or diploma, preferably in automation or computer electronics.
• 3‑5 years of experience with electronics and mechanical equipment in an industrial setting.
• Strong analytical, diagnostic, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and collaborate across departments.
• Willingness to travel across North America and work extended project hours.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows).
• Understanding of network infrastructure (LAN, WLAN) and communication protocols.
• Knowledge of relays and digital I/O.
• Mechanical knowledge of scales, motors, and conveyors.
• Experience with industrial PC workstations, automated weighing and labeling solutions, and various scale types (conveyor, rail, bench).
