Construction Engineer (P-3) – Bangui

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Construction Engineer (P‑3) to lead and coordinate construction activities for its country office in Bangui, Central African Republic. The role combines technical oversight, planning and collaboration with programme teams and government partners to ensure safe, timely and cost‑effective delivery of construction projects that support UNICEF’s humanitarian mandate.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the annual construction workplan aligned with programme needs.
• Collaborate with UNICEF programme and operations units and government counterparts to define construction interventions.
• Prepare design specifications, technical documents and support the procurement process.
• Monitor construction sites, supervise contractors and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Provide technical advice to government and partners on construction project management.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, architecture or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in project management, site supervision, quality assurance or related technical roles at national or international level.
• Understanding of development and humanitarian contexts.
• Fluency in French and English; additional UN language or local language is a plus.
